Google’s Pixel Launcher offers simple and clear design, may not have as many features as third-party options like Nova or Action Launcher. But, Google Pixel Launcher will soon receive a new batch of features, including auto-naming of folders that worked. Recently a member of the XDA-Developers unveiled with the latest build of the Launcher on Android 11 Developer Preview.
Here are all the features.
1. New actions in the recent apps Overview page
Select, Screenshot and Share these three actions feature will be at the bottom of the screen of recent apps. The first of these is present as a focus for select, copy all text, images in one app and other two looks like separate options – one is just to save a screenshot of the app and the other is to share it directly.
2. Hide individual app suggestions
The launch will also have an option to hide separate apps from this category. However, currently, you can hide the entire row of app suggestions in the Pixel Launcher app drawer. You can long-press a recommended app and then press the “Do not suggest application” button to stop it.
3. Auto-naming of folders
Apart from that, Google is has been working to announce auto-naming capabilities for folders created in the Pixel Launcher. Interestingly, the feature automatically assigns a name when you combine two or more apps in the same section to form folders. Such as if you together Facebook with Telegram, then it will create a new folder with the name of ‘Social’.
When Google will release it with Android 11
It is highly unlikely to state when or if the new choices will turn out openly. Although, Google is known for updating Pixel Launcher with significant Android or Pixel phone launches. The XDA-Developers clearly shows that Google is testing these features for Android 11, but no final decision has been made on how to make them available.
