Samsung has launched its Galaxy S20 series flagship smartphones, the series includes three models: a standard Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus, and the high-end S20 Ultra also. All models provide 5G support (in select zones).
Besides, they offer a high-quality 120Hz refresh rate with 8K video recording support, solid batteries, and flagship internals.
Samsung Galaxy S20 range gets punch-hole design
The Galaxy S20 Series carries a punch-hole (center-attached) display design with curved edges, ultra-slim bezels situated both top and bottom position and occupied metal-glass body.
The rear side you will find L-shaped rectangular camera bump which is a new shape that holds up to four lenses (in Ultra model).
The smartphones are IP68-rated for dust and water and for screen protection they get Gorilla Glass 6.
As well as design, the S20 range comes with a new Infinity-O Dynamic AMOLED 2X display featuring a QHD (1,440×3,200 pixels) resolution, a high –quality refresh rate of 120Hz and they support HDR10.
They also carry three individual sizes display: the standard S20 has a 6.2-inch screen, the S20 Plus model bear a 6.7-inch and the top-end S20 ultra offer a bigger 6.9-inch display, respectively.
For unlocking, the screens are integrated with ultrasonic fingerprint scanners.
Galaxy S20 series: Rear and front cameras
In the camera department, they also offer good camera quality: the Galaxy S20 Ultra includes a 108MP main rear sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera and another 48MP telephoto lens featuring 100x Super Resolution zoom and 10x hybrid optical also, further a DepthVision lens.
Apart from that, the other two models S20 and S20 Plus receive a similar setup but have a 12MP main sensor and a 64৪MP telephoto lens with the support of 3x optical and 30x digital zoom, lack of a DepthVision camera on standard S20 model.
Talking about selfie cameras, the S20 and S20 Plus offer the same 10MP (f / 2.2) shooter. However, Samsung claims that there is a new 40MP front camera that offers pro-grade selfie. The sensor shifts to 10MP with larger pixels during the low-light conditions.
All models support 8K video recording @24fps and you can extract a 33MP image from these videos as well. Here is a single tech that lets you shoot for up to 10 seconds and gives you different shots.
Further, they get night mode, improved video stabilization and editing suite.
S20 series: Internals
Depending on the region, the S20 series controlled by Snapdragon 865 or Exynos 990 chipset with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage.
Battery and other specifications
The handsets run with the One UI 2.1 based on Android 10 and in terms of battery you get a 5,000mAh battery for the S20 Ultra while the S20 Plus, and S20 pack with 4,500mAh, and 4,000mAh battery, respectively. Furthermore, they provide fast Wireless Charging 2.0, reverse wireless charging, and up to 45W wired fast charging.
As far as other specifications, including stereo speakers, dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5, NFC, Dolby Atmus Sound-based. They will also available on single or dual SIM models depending on the region.
Price and availability
Globally, this base starts at $999.99 for the base-end S20 model and goes up to $1,599.99 for the top-spec S20 Ultra 5G variant. Details on the price and availability of S20 handsets in India have not been released yet.
In the US, the series will go on sale on March 6 and pre-orders begin on February 21.
