Xiaomi has launched in India its Redmi Note 9 series smartphones including Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. Both new handsets retain premium Gorilla Glass 5 body, a punch-hole style display, quad rear cameras, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and mid-level internals featuring a Snapdragon 720G chipset.
Redmi Note 9 Pro Max and Note 9 Pro: Design and Display
Design-wise both smartphones come with a punch-hole display, the front camera sits inside the punch-hole and equipped with Gorilla Glass 5 body. On the rear, they have a quad rear camera along with an LED flash. They also get a side-mounted fingerprint authentication.
The new Xiaomi phones offer a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1080×2400 pixels) IPS display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. Both provide “Aura Balance” design with a P2I splash-proof coating.
The smartphones arrive with Aurora Blue, Glacier White, and Interstellar Black color options.
They get the same processor
The Note 9 Pro Max and Note 9 Pro powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor paired, the 9 Pro Max paired with 6GB/8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB/128GB of UFS 2.1internal storage and the 9 Pro model coupled with 4GB/6GB LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB/128GB of UFS 2.1 storage. Both models are expandable up to 512GB via microSD.
As for software both phones run Android 10 with MIUI 11 on top as well as a pack with a massive 5,020mAh battery with the support of 33W fast charging tech (Note 9 Pro supports 18W fast charging).
They include connectivity options such as dual-SIM (Nano), 4G, Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Note 9 Pro variant offers bottom-firing speakers and dual microphones with noise cancellation.
Both mobiles feature a quad rear camera setup
The Note 9 Pro Max has a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with 119-degree FoV, 5MP macro sensor, and another 5MP depth sensor. For selfie, it gets a 32MP shooter on the front.
Other hands, the Note 9 Pro retains a 48MP (f/1.79) Samsung ISOCELL GM2 primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 120-degree, 5MP macro camera, and 2MP depth sensor. For handling selfie, you get a 16MP front-facing camera.
Price in India and availability
The standard Redmi Note 9 Pro starts Rs. 12,999 for the 4GB/64GB variant and goes up to Rs. 15,999 for the 6GB/128GB model. While the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max costs Rs. 14,999 for the 6GB/64GB configuration, Rs. 16,999 for the 6GB/128GB variant and the top-end model 8GB/128GB offers Rs. 18,999.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro will be available for sale in India on March 17 whereas the Pro Max will go on sale from March 25 onwards. You can buy those Xiaomi phones via Amazon India, Mi.com, Mi Home store, and select offline outlets.
