Huawei sub-brand Honor has unveiled its Honor Play 4 and Play 4 Pro smartphones in China. Based on the design, both the latest phones offer us a punch-hole style design. However, Honor Play 4 has a single selfie while the Pro model includes dual punch-hole cameras. They are powered by 5G networks and provide up to 128GB of storage. You get Magical Night Black, Phantom Blue, and Iceland Illusion color options for the Play 4 variant and Magical Night Black, Mecha Blue, and Iceland Illusion finish for the Pro model.
The Play 4 Pro model also comes with an additional look that has a dedicated infrared (IR) sensor on the back to measure body temperature.
Honor Play 4: At a glance
This phone debuts with a punch-hole design having two front cameras. It houses a quad rear camera unit along with the LED flash in the back. The smartphone includes a 6.81-inch FHD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) resolution TFT display that has found with 20:9 of aspect ratio and 386ppi pixel density. It gets an in-display sensor for fingerprint authentication.

Coming to optics, tt sports a large 64MP (f/1.89) primary sensor in the rear, an 8MP (f/2.2) wide-angle lens, a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor, and another 2MP (f/2.4) macro shooter. Inside the punch-hole, the device includes a 16MP (f/2.0) front-facing camera.
Processor and spaces
Honor uses an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 800 5G processor with Mali G57 MC4 GPU. It has two LPDDR4x RAM options 6GB/8GB and 128GB onboard storage that can be expanded up to 512GB by using a microSD card.
The latest 5G phone runs on Android with Magic UI 3.1 out-of-the-box and inside it has a 4,300mAh battery with support of 22.5W fast charging. Connectivity options are available such as dual-SIM (Nano) support, 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.1, Wi-Fi 802. GPS, A-GPS, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The smartphone provides an accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, and a proximity sensor.
Honor Play 4 Pro: Design and display
The Honor Play 4 Pro also retains a punch-hole design with a dual front camera, On the rear, it has dual cameras with an LED flash. Talking about display size, this phone features a 6.57-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) TFT display that has a 20:9 aspect ratio and also includes an in-display fingerprint sensor.
The camera sensors
The dual camera set up phone carries a 40MP (f/1.8) main camera and an 8MP (f/2.4) secondary sensor. Also, it houses dual selfie sensors inside punch-hole one is a 32MP (f/2.0) primary, and an 8MP (f/2.2) secondary.
It rocks with an in-house chip
The Play 4 Pro is powered by the octa-core Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 990 5G processor with Mali-G76 GPU, coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of non-expandable storage.
Out-of-the-box it runs on Android 10 based on Magic UI 3.1 and occupied with a 4,200mAh battery that supports up to 40W fast charging. It supports dual-SIM (Nano), 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.1, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC, GPS, A-GPS, and USB Type-C port.
Available sensors are an accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, magnetometer, and a proximity sensor.
Price in China and availability
The Play 4 price starts at CNY 1,799 for the 6GB/128GB storage variant whereas the 8GB/128GB configuration comes with the price of CNY 1,999. The Pro model price is CNY 2,899 for the 8GB/128GB storage and the other model which includes the IR sensor comes with the price tag of CNY 2,999 for an 8GB/128GB.
All models will be available in China from June 9 via the Honor official website.
