Redmi Note 9 launched with Helio G85 processor, 48MP camera

Xiaomi has announced the Redmi Note 9 in India. Earlier, the company has also announced the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max in the month of March. The Redmi Note 9 launched with a punch-hole style, single selfie camera, and with four rear camera setup. It is powered by the MediaTek system chip. This handset comes seven of the 25% larger battery than the previous variants as well as supports reverse charging.

Redmi Note 9: Design and display

The Xiaomi latest phone offers a punch-hole design and has a single selfie camera on the top left corner of the panel. In the behind of the handset sports a quad rear camera and includes a rear fingerprint sensor right below of the camera setup.

It features a 6.53-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,340 pixels) IPS display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

It has a 48MP rear main camera

The quad-camera setup Note 9 includes a 48MP (f/1.79) Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 primary sensor, an 8MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP (f/2.4) macro lens as well as a 2MP depth sensor. The smartphone brings a 13MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calling.

Processor and storage options

The device is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 processor, paired with up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of eMMC 5.1 onboard storage. The Xiaomi smartphone runs on Android with MIUI 11 and includes a 5,020mAh battery with the support of 22.5W fast charging and also supports 9W reverse charging tech.

Connectivity features are dual-SIM (Nano), 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, USB Type-C port, GPS, A-GPS, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Onboard sensors are available such as an accelerometer, ambient light, infrared (IR) blaster, and a proximity sensor.

Price in India and how to buy

The Redmi Note 9 price starts at Rs. 11,999 for the 4GB/64GB storage options. The 4GB/128GB storage cost is Rs. 13,499 whereas the 6GB/128GB configuration comes with the price tag of Rs. 14,999. All storage variants come with Aqua Green, Arctic White, and Pebble Grey color options.

It will be available in the country for sale starting July 24 at 12 pm IST (noon) and you can buy it from Amazon India, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores.
